Trade Unions Service
The Trade Unions Affairs Department coordinates with the three production parties in all matters related to trade union organizations, besides overseeing, collective negotiations, resolving disputes, following up on the registration of collective labour complaints application, receiving applications to establish new trade unions, reviews their establishment procedures, provides the necessary database In preparation for determining the representative trade union for Bahraini workers in international forums, promotes union awareness and strengthens social dialogue in light of national and international labour legislation, prepares union cadres and leaderships, with emphasis on work values, increasing and developing productivity, and enhancing social participation among parties. Provides the service of attesting collective work contracts, publishing them in the Official Gazette, and monitoring their implementation.

Workers in any facility, specific sector, specific activity, industries or crafts that are similar or related to each other, may establish one or more unions of their own in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (33) of 2002 regarding trade unions.

The establishment of the union must not be based on sectarian, religious or ethnic grounds.

The employees who are addressed by the civil service systems must have the right to join it.

Requirements for a trade union member:

The collective complaint must be related to the terms and conditions of work and terms of use.

The dispute is between one or more employers and all their workers or a group of them.

The complaint must be submitted by the trade union organization or the majority of the facility’s workers or the department workers in the facility to whom the dispute concerns.
Service for establishing a trade union organization (a trade union):
-To be among the employees to whom the provisions of this law apply
- The employer should not be in the facility or one of the officials concerned with drawing up its policy or making decisions in.
Collective Complaint Service:
Submit the request to the Trade Union Department at Labour Relation Directorate in Ministry of Labor and Social Development

When establishing a trade union organization, it must not contravene the laws in force in the Kingdom and fulfill the necessary conditions stipulated in Decree-Law No. (33) of 2002 regarding trade unions.

When filing a collective complaint, the procedures stipulated in Article 158 of the Labor Law in the Private Sector No. 36 of 2012 must be followed..
