Collective disputes

In implementation of the provisions of Chapter 14 of the Labour Law in the Private Sector No. (36) of 2012 on collective labour relations, the Trade Unions Affairs Section receives requests for collective labour disputes received through trade union organisations, or workers' groups to settle them amicably before submitting them to the Collective Labour Disputes Settlement Council, or the Collective Arbitration Committee at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

    1. The subject matter of the dispute must be collective.
    2. The collective dispute should be related to working conditions and terms of employment.
    3. The dispute shall be between one or more employers and all or a group of their workers.
    4. The dispute shall be submitted by either the trade union organisation, or the majority of the workers of the establishment, or the workers of a department in the establishment to whom the dispute relates.
    5. Negotiations shall take place between the disputing parties before the dispute is filed "with the supporting attachment proving it."

  5. Attach proof of negotiation, or refusal to negotiate by the representatives of the defendant.
