National Bank of Bahrain Elderly Home

 

 

The Kingdom of Bahrain was keen, through its different ministries as per the specialization of each, on providing services to its citizens as the Ministry of Labour and Social Development paid importance to take care of the elderly at the National Bank of Bahrain’s Elderly home through providing all social and welfare services for all segments of the society, working on advancement and development levels for such services.

The National Bank of Bahrain’s Elderly care is one of those established by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in 1985 AD, in which the National Bank of Bahrain built and equipped it to be a model for this contribution and conclusive evidence of the attention that all agencies give to the elderly.

The home is deemed as a residential institution that provides health, social, psychological, educational and recreational services to the elderly parents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The home has an administrative and technical staff, which includes all professional specialties, social workers, psychologists and nutritionists, as well as nurses, nursing supervisors,practical  nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and medical services assistants.

The Home’s Objectives:

 

  1. To provide social, medical, psychological, living, and recreational care for the Home’s and Centre’s residents and according to the needs and requirements of each resident.
  2. To develop suitable rehabilitation programs for the elderly and benefit from their abilities and capabilities.
  3. To integrate the elderly with the surrounding environment and strengthen the tie between them and their families.
  4. To train and qualify the cadres working in the Home and Centre, enhance their efficiency, and develop their capabilities in the field of elderly care.

Admission condition: 

  1. To be a Bahraini citizen.
  2. The elderly do not have a legitimate provider
  3. 60 years of age and above.
  4. The inability of the elderly to meet his initial needs himself.
  5. does not have mental disorders.
  6. has a desire to reside .
  7. be Free of infectious diseases.

Types of Care:

 

1.  Permanent Care

 

This care is provided for the elderly category that do not have a supporter or whose families are not able to take care of them. They stay at the Home or Centre on a permanent basis till they leave this life. For the provision of this type of care, it is required to obtain the agreement of the elderly and their families.

 

2. Temporary Care

 

A type of care through which different services are provided for the elderly for a limited period that extends for one month or more due to emergency circumstances in the family. After such period ends, the elderly returns to his family.
